Woman's nighttime stroll interrupted by attack, armed robbery

Victim struck in head with pistol butt

A woman outdoors to escape the heat in her apartment is an armed robbery victim.

We're told the victim was strolling on East 51st Street just west of South Sheridan Road about 3:45 a.m. Monday.

Tulsa Police Sergeant Malcolm Wightman says the woman "was struck in the head with the butt of the pistol and they took her purse and fled westbound on foot. She was out walking and they charged her from behind."

Police are looking for two black male suspects in their late teens, but no one has been arrested.

The victim was taken to the hospital.
