Woman finds bird skull in frozen spinach

Skull was missing an eye

The find may have scarred Madeline Brogan for a while "I will probably need therapy because that little thing is going to haunt me," she said.

Brogan was draining the spinach when she “ran into something hard and I didn't want to throw it down the garbage disposal."

So she left it to thaw and then found the skull.

"I would expect a bug, or a natural part of something that grows on the ground, even a pebble or a stick, but not a bird."

"There's an eye missing out of it," Madeline told WWSB in Sarasota, Florida.

The manager of the Public where Brogan bought the spinach released the following statement;

“We did receive communication from the customer through our Customer Care department, which was shared with our Corporate Quality Assurance team. They are working through the details with the customer and the supplier. We have not received any additional complaints and believe this an isolated incident.”

The store also offered Madeline a refund of the $1.79 she spent on the spinach.

Brogan is appreciative of the response but says she will probably just stay away from frozen spinach for now.
