Winter weather for Tulsa on Thursday morning, more sleet, rain

All precipitation gone by noon to 3 p.m.

Winter weather remains in the area early Thursday.

News On 6 Chief Meteorologist Travis Meyer says it will continue to be cold rain as temperatures remain 32 degrees to 34 degrees.

Once we're at 32, that's obviously some freezing rain, so we will be right at the doorstep of having some issues in Tulsa.

That should transition as you go back toward the Bartlesville area into a heavier snow event as we go through the afternoon hours today and even on into Osage County where four to eight inches will be possible, along with southern Kansas.

There is a high probability of freezing rain east of Tulsa extending from around Grand Lake to northwest Arkansas and southwest Missouri.

Temperstures will remain right around 32 degrees to 34 degrees for most of the day.

We could get a little bump in the afternoon up to about 38 degrees and then we will be partly cloudy with all of the precipitation gone by about noon to 3 p.m. around Tulsa.

As we look on into Friday, expect partly to mostly sunny skies and cold with a high of 37 degrees.
