Wife may have drowned after crash into creek

Her husband, the passenger, survived

Investigators say a Bartlesville woman was killed after her car crashed into a creek in Washington County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the wreck happened Sunday night around 6:00 about a mile outside of Bartlesville.

Troopers say 44-year-old Sherry Hockett crossed the center line on a curve.

Her car overturned, trapping her inside.

Hockett swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle, then overcorrected and drove off the road.

The highway patrol says Hockett was pronounced dead at the scene and that she may have drowned.

Her husband was in the passenger seat and survived.
