Wife arrested after husband found beaten, stunned, and asphyxiated, she claims suicide

Jeane Harrington stuck to her story, saying her husband Michael Gabel killed himself.

But cops never bought the explanation and now, three years after his death, they’ve charged her with murder.

In August of 2011 Harrington called police and told them she found Michael, dead on their couch. “I just got back from the store and it looks like my husband is deceased,” the 911 call began.

Gabel had head injuries from being hit several times. There were also signs he had been shot with a stun gun before being asphyxiated. Harrington admitted she used the stun gun on her husband after they had a fight that morning.

Police think the woman used the stun gun to immobilize her husband, then hit several times in the head before wrapping his head in plastic.

Authorities confirmed they had been to the house on more than one occasion for domestic disturbances.

Harrington has been in jail since Friday. The couple’s 11 year old son has been placed with relatives.
