A week after large pot bust, Jenks investigation continues

Nearly a week after Jenks police arrested a woman and confiscated a large amount of money and marijuana, as well as a couple guns, they still haven't released the name of the suspect.

Jenks Police Chief Cameron Arthur says the investigation continues, and they need to protect the integrity of that probe -- and some of the people involved -- by withholding some information on the case.

It began with a tip phoned in from a citizen.

"Instead of just making arrests and being done, we want to follow back and trace it back, so we've involved some other agencies. And if we were to provide that name right now, while we are under investigation, it could jeopardize some of the people involved," Chief Arthur told KRMG.

Last Friday, Jenks police served a warrant on a home, where they found some $11,500 in cash, a pound and a quarter of marijuana, and two weapons, a handgun and a shotgun.

He said his department should be able to release more information on the case soon.
