Watch Mayes County bridge explosion from all angles

Demolition crews with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation were serious about capturing the explosion of an old dilapidated bridge in Pensacola, OK.

They set up a variety of cameras from different distances and posts.

The video was posted on YouTube last month and is just starting to gain traction with more than 36,000 views.

This is a bridge demolition project on SH-28 at Big Cabin Creek in Mayes County.

The Parker truss style bridge, built in 1939, was taken down by the demolition crew on February 1, 2013, using linear shaped charges to cut the bridge into five pieces.

The bridge pier bases were also removed by blasting.

A newly constructed, replacement bridge recently opened right next to the original.
