Walmart workers planning large scale strike Thursday

Follows fast food strike of last week

You may have to use the self checkout line and do your own bagging all day tomorrow at your local Walmart.

On a Facebook page called OUR Walmart threats and demands are flying like shopping carts.

“Walmart, it’s time to reinstate Associates who have been unjustly fired. We’re ready to stand up until this happens and we, the Associates, are paid a wage we can live on,” the page says.

Many of those employees walked off the job demanding a raise in pay from the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour to $15.00 per hour.

The threat is a strike similar to the one fast food workers staged last week.

While those strikes were not well organized and have had little impact the Walmart group says they will go forward.

It’s expected Walmart employees will protest or walk off the job at least temporarily in 13 states making it the biggest labor stoppage since Black Friday.
