Wagoner County man charged with 42 counts of animal cruelty

Deputies say some of the animals were tied to different objects

Gruesome pictures show 36 dogs in a building with feces and maggots at a property in Porter taken by Wagoner County deputies Thursday.

Deputies say Kerry Yochum also had horses and a cow tied up on his land.

“I was appalled at the conditions that these animals were living in,” said Wagoner County Sheriff Chris Elliott.

Deputies weren’t able to find a safe place to keep the animals, so some area residents took them.

None of the animals had access to food or water and appeared malnourished.

“I am grateful that we have such wonderful citizens in Porter that met with deputies and agreed to care for these abused animals until they could be placed in a safe home.”
