Voter alert issued by Oklahoma State Election Board

A text message eventually takes voters to a male escort service

OKLAHOMA CITY — It’s just weeks away from what some say is the most important presidential election in the history in the U.S., and it looks like scammers are taking advantage.

Oklahoma State Election Board Secretary Paul Ziriax says some voters got a text message Friday claiming that the polling place changed.

Ziriax says the message asked voters to reply to confirm their name. It then provided a phone number to call to be removed from the notification list.

The phone number is reportedly for a male escort service.
