A broken water main turned a west Tulsa neighborhood into a small lake early Wednesday morning.
The break occurred underneath S. Jackson Ave. near W. 23rd Street about 6:30 a.m. according to resident.
KRMG got there just ahead of repair crews, who worked to try and get the flow of water stopped so they could begin the long process of repairing the break and cleaning up the mess.
Residents of the nearby apartment complex said none of the water reached their homes.
The road buckled completely, as did nearby sidewalks, and water was bubbling up from below pavement and concrete at more than a dozen locations.
They were concerned, however, because another recent water line break just across 23rd Street a few months ago left them without water for four days.
Several told KRMG they had filled up their bathtubs before the city turned off the water.
City crews on the scene said they weren't sure if the break involved an 8-inch line or a 16-inch line.
