VIDEO: Tulsa deputies diverted from regular patrol duties to pick up illegal campaign signs

Tulsa County Sheriffs Deputies are busy this afternoon.

They're being diverted from regular patrol duties to pick up illegally placed campaign signs.

Deputies tell KRMG that they've been sent to more than 30 polling places with signs too close to the ballot box.

State law makes it illegal for signs to be placed within 300 feet of the ballot box.

Oklahoma Title 26, Chapter A1, Article Article VII, Section 7-108 says:

No person shall be allowed to electioneer within three hundred (300) feet of any ballot box while an election is in progress, nor shall any person or persons, except election officials and other persons authorized by law, be allowed within fifty (50) feet of any ballot box while an election is in progress. No printed material other than that provided by the election board shall be publicly placed or exposed within three hundred (300) feet of any ballot box, while an election is in progress.
