Video: Teachers taunt student stuck in chair

Principal resigned, teacher resists firing

A Michigan school district northwest of Detroit is abandoning its efforts to fire a teacher over a video showing a fifth-grader stuck in a classroom chair and instead is suspending her for a year.

The boy's lawyer says the teacher and the principal taunted the child, who has Asperger's syndrome.

The principal resigned and the teacher, who has apologized to the boy's parents, has been fighting the district's efforts to fire her.
