Velveeta cheese recalled at some Walmarts

Could have premature spoilage or food-borne illnesses

Kraft Foods says it's recalling its Velveeta cheese product from Walmart stores in as many as 12 states, mostly in the Midwest.

The cheese doesn't have the proper amount of sorbic acid, a preservative.

That could cause premature spoilage or food-borne illnesses.

It was sent to three Walmart distribution centers and could have been shipped to as many as 12 states.

About 260 cases of Velveeta are being recalled.

The recall affects Kansas distribution centers, but not those located in Oklahoma.
