UPDATE: Tulsa police release name of city's latest murder victim

It happened shortly after midnight at an extended stay hotel in east Tulsa

UPDATE: Police have now released the name of Tulsa's 55th murder victim of 2013.

They identify him as Monte Foreman, 37.

A check of records showed several convictions for drug-related crimes in Muskogee and Pittsburgh Counties.

The 911 call came in about ten minutes after midnight, sending police and first responders to the Studio 6 Motel, 8181 E. 41st St.

Someone shot him to death in the parking lot of an east Tulsa extended stay hotel early Sunday morning.

Police say the Foreman was found in a car with gunshot wounds to his chest.

TPD Crime Scene Investigator Mark Ohnesorge told KRMG at the scene they were still trying to determine if he was inside the car when he was shot, but could confirm the shooting happened in the parking lot and not inside the hotel.

Witnesses staying at the hotel told officers they heard gunfire, but didn't see the shooter.

Police believe there was a disagreement between Foreman and unknown suspects outside of the hotel which led to the shooting.

Police tell KRMG he was transported to St. Francis in critical condition, but could not be revived and was pronounced dead after arriving.

Anybody with information regarding the homicide is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 918-595-COPS.
