Update: Highway 20 back open following afternoon grass fire

Firefighters are trying to put out the flames in a field

Updating a story KRMG first told you about Saturday afternoon.

State Highway 20 has reopened after being shutdown for more than two hours due to poor visibility from an area grass fire.

Skiatook Fire Department worked for hours getting the fire under control.  No reports of any injuries or structure damage from the fire.

Leaders at the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety say the fire is burning west of State Highway 20 and smoke is creating low visibility for drivers.

A KRMG texter says, "Hwy 20 at ranchland road outside of hominy between skiatook and hominy due to wild fire and smoke blowing over the hwy."

The fire is in a field.

No structures have been burned.
