Update: Four people die in highway wreck, man in custody

A fifth person is hospitalized

Update: A follow-up to a story KRMG first brought you Saturday morning.

A Salina man is behind bars in connection with the death of four people after a crash late Friday evening.

Kellyville Police say David Ernst faces four counts of manslaughter after Vernon Bowles, Susie Frazier, Vivian Henry, and an unnamed 9-year-old were killed on Highway 66.

The suspect is accused of crossing the center line in his pickup and striking a Buick containing all four victims head on.

Original: Four people are dead following a Creek County wreck on Highway 66 at Highway 33.

All four victims were in the same car.

The head-on crash happened around 9:30 last night and closed the highway for several hours.
