Two trucks fished out of Oklahoma lake

A fisherman using sonar found more than fish at Waxhoma Lake recently.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol dive teams and tow trucks were out near Barnsdall on Monday fishing two pickup trucks out of the water. A trooper at the scene says they have proof the vehicles had been there for a while.

“It was registered in 93, it’s a 93 and that’s probably around the time it was dumped,” trooper said.

KRMG’s told they quickly retrieved the vehicles from the lake because they can be dangerous to boats, fishermen and swimmers.

The trooper added he's surprised more people don't try and dump stolen vehicles in lakes.  For reference, it’s illegal to dump anything in Oklahoma lakes.
