Prosecutors have announced the arrest of two teenaged girls suspected of using social media to threaten the victim in the rape case that ended in the conviction of two high school football players in Ohio.
Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine says the 15 and 16-year-old girls were arrested Monday for posting threatening Facebook and Twitter comments the day before.
That was the day a judge announced he had found Trent Mays, 17, and Ma'lik Richardson, 16, guilty of rape.
DeWine says a grand jury will convene next month to determine who may have known about the rape and failed to report it.
Mays was also found guilty of photographing the 16-year-old victim while she was naked, and apparently unconscious.
That may include other teens who were at the parties where the attacks occurred.
It will also likely focus on the football coach, Reno Saccoccia.
Evidence presented during the trial indicated Saccocia may have not only known about the rape, but may have tried to shield two of his up-and-coming athletes from prosecution.
The grand jury will convene April 15.
