Tulsa streets monitored early Thursday, declared in good condition

Crews will remain on duty today

Tulsa streets have been relatively clear for drivers early Thursday.

Paul Strizek with the Tulsa Street Department tells us crews have moitored the bridges and roadways throughout the night as the temperature has remained right above freezing.

He says the pavement has remained four or five degrees above freezing.

"Sleet and straight-up rain but still haven't experienced any problems whatsoever on the City of Tulsa street system," Strizek said.

Freezing rain started around 3:30 a.m. today.

Crews will remain on duty "monitoring the streets, monitoring the weather and we will work through the day if necessary."
