Tulsa Schools to reopen middle, junior high, and high schools on January 4th

Board voted 6-1 in favor of plan

At a special meeting held Monday, the Tulsa School Board decided that middle, junior high, and high school student will not return to in-person classes until after the winter break on January 4th.

They will continue distance learning until then.

The board had decided last week that grade school students would start going back in phases, starting on November 9th.

Also, when in-person classes resume, it will be for four days a week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with distance learning for all students on Wednesdays.

But even when schools open again, the district will keep the option for distance learning for those who want it.

The district said it would be sending out more information about the plan to middle, junior high, and high school parents, teachers, and support professionals on Tuesday.
