Tulsa Salvation Army saves the day

A local couple is praising the Tulsa Salvation Army after a wedding ring was accidentally dropped into a donation kettle.

The wife wanted to stay anonymous, but she describes what happened.

“I had outpatient surgery at St. John and I forgot to take them off,” she said.  “At the last minute, I gave them to him and he put them in his pocket.”

“As always, he reached into his pocket to put change in the bucket for the Salvation Army, and not remembering that my rings were in his pocket,” she added.

The couple then made a quick stop and came across a donation kettle.

While counting money from the kettle the next morning, the Salvation Army found the ring and returned it to the couple. To show their gratitude, the couple gave them a $100 donation.
