Tulsa records 1.09 inch rainfall Saturday, Sunday

NWS: Most substantial rainfall in Tulsa in several weeks

Mother Nature finally puts a dent in the lack of rain we've had in the Tulsa area recently.

National Weather Service meteorologist Craig Sullivan tells us Tulsa recorded 1.09 inches of rain Saturday and yesterday.

"That's the most substantial rain we're had in several weeks around the area and still have a long way to go before we really get out of the current drought that we're in but this is a good start," Sullivan said.

Tulsa has had 2.11 inches of rain during March.

We're told the weekend rainfall is the first good rainfall eastern Oklahoma has had in several weeks.

Normal for the month to this date is 1.74 inches.
