Tulsa ranked #1 city in America for young entrepreneurs

Oklahoma City also makes the list at #5

The rankings are based on cost of living, a friendly business loan atmosphere, and high number of people with college degrees.

Rankings are fine but does reality match up with what young business people in Tulsa are experiencing?

KRMG went downtown and found the answer to be a resounding yes.

Matt thinks the city is just re-living some of what helped make it great to begin with.

“Tulsa is very entrepreneurial, it affords a lot of people our age an opportunity to start up,” Matt told us.

“It’s like it was 100 ago when oil became the big industry here, it was very entrepreneurial at that time so we’re starting to see a very cyclical thing happen.”

The gathering of young guns had a laundry list of what they love about the city they have chosen to live and work in.

“A thriving Guthrie Green,” one said. “Opportunity, change agent, and friendly” another chimed in.

And you can’t leave out the foodie aspect “the food trucks” Nathan grinned as he added. “I love the food trucks, yeah” he said as high fives went around the group.

Oklahoma City finished number five on the list giving Oklahoma two of the top five cities.
