Tulsa police officer in ICU after a scuffle

The officer has been with TPD for nine years

Police responded to a call for an unruly passenger inside an ambulance near 61st and Yale around 8:00 Friday morning.

The first officer on the scene, Officer Sean Love, got into a fight with the patient.

“The officer at that time turned purple,” Capt. Richard Meulenberg. “He had no pulse. Thanks to the work of the ambulance folks and the proximity to the hospital they were able to do CPR.”

No word yet on what might happen to the patient.

Mayor G.T. Bynum says Officer Sean Love is now in a medically induced coma.
