Tulsa Oilers announce new owner

The Tulsa Oilers hockey franchise today announced they have a new owner.

The Central Hockey League team made the announcement at the BOK Center Tuesday afternoon.

The new owner is Stevens Brothers Sports Management Group of Wichita, Kansas.

He says the new owner is committed to putting a high-quality franchise together, and to increasing the attendance at Oilers games.

Rob Loeber, Director of Media Relations for the Oilers, told KRMG the announcement should put to rest any speculation about the team pulling up stakes and moving away from Tulsa.

The news comes in the wake of a CHL announcement made June 20 that the League is now owned by Central Partners, LLC, a collection of the franchise owners.

The CHL will launch its 22nd season in October with 10 teams, including two expansion franchises in Brampton, Ontario and St. Charles, Missouri.
