Federal prosecutors allege that Charles Jason Moreland sent expletive-ridden emails all in capital letters to Reid in April, saying that Reid was "a dead man."
Moreland is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Tulsa federal court, and could face up to 30 years in prison and $750,000 in fines if he's convicted, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Trent Shores.
"Any time we receive information about threats of this nature, we take them very seriously," Shores said Tuesday.

On April 15, according to the federal complaint, Reid received an email message: "You're a dead (expletive) man Harry Reid! A dead man!"
The messages claimed to be authored by "Thomas Payne" and provided a bogus Nevada address. Investigators later traced the Internet address to an account in Moreland's name.
