Tulsa homicide detectives investigating decomposing body

Landlord reported tenant missing last week

Tulsa Police homicide detectives are investigating a decomposing body as the city's latest homicide.

On Wednesday, March 6th, the landlord of 4510 W. 5th St. reported the tenant of that residence missing.

The landlord had not seen the tenant for several days and the rent was due.

The landlord called the Tulsa Police Department.

Around 9:30 Thursday morning, the landlord went inside the residence and discovered some blood inside the residence.

Officers responding to the scene called for homicide and crime scene units at around 10:00 A.M.

Police tell KRMG that investigators worked the scene as if it was a murder scene.

During the processing of the scene, a badly decomposed body was located in the residence.

Due to the decomposition of the body, investigators say it is not possible to determine the cause or manner of death.

The circumstances surrounding the finding of the body lead detectives to believe this is the 17th homicide in Tulsa for 2013.

Detectives are actively following leads.
