A Tulsa favorite restaurant plans a south location

More Mexican flavor will be available in South Tulsa soon

(TULSA) -  El Guapo's Cantina is planned for the southeast corner of 81st Street and Harvard Avenue.

The popular Tulsa spot downtown is owned by McNellie's Group, which has 12 other properties in Oklahoma.

"Tulsans love El Guapo's fresh Mexican food, plus its extensive list of margaritas and unique tequilas, so we are excited about bringing the concept to a new area of the community," said Vice President of Operations Jim O'Connor.

O'Connor says the downtown El Guapo's is hopping, but customers don't want a cantina closer to home.

The second El Guapo’s Cantina will be in the building that was SoCo Sports Bar and Grill.

The new location will have a private dining room for 100 people and an outdoor patio with 75 seats.

"El Guapo's rooftop patio is always packed," O'Connor said. "We're excited to build a patio at the second location and provide another great outdoor dining atmosphere."

The south location will have the same menu of food items as the downtown El Guapo's, including the popular grilled fish tacos, fajitas and wet burritos.
