Tulsa County Parks & Rec hiring for summer jobs

Camp counselor, lifeguard, umpire and splash park monitor positions available

If you’re looking for some summer work, or know someone who is, Tulsa County may have something for you.

Tulsa County Parks and Recreation is hiring summer 2021 positions for camp counselors, lifeguards, umpires and splash park monitors. The County operates Bixby Community Center, Buddy LaFortune Community Center, Chandler Community Center, O’Brien Recreation Center and South County Recreation Center (SoCo).

The South County pool and the Chandler Splash Park will open on Sat. June 5.

Summer day camp counselor applicants must be a high school graduate or have a GED and three months of experience working with children of various ages is preferred. Pay is $8 an hour and the schedule is 40 hours per week.

Chandler Splash Park Monitors must be 15 and a half or older to apply. Pay is $9.25 an hour. SoCo Lifeguards must be certified lifeguards. Pay is $9.25 an hour. Hours are flexible.

Umpire positions are also open for Chandler Park and O’Brien Park baseball leagues. Pay starts at $10 an hour and applicants must have a good knowledge of baseball and rules of the game.

First Aid and CPR training will be provided to all hired applicants, if required or needed.
