Area fire chiefs say we are still at risk for wildfires.
So, in spite of the recent rain, Tulsa County commissioners have voted to keep in place the county's burn ban.
County spokesman Michael Willis says the state has informed the county that it will remove Tulsa County from the state's burn ban later this week but the county ban will remain in place, for now.
In spite of numerous off-and-on showers over the past week, Tulsa only got about a half-inch of rain total.
Willis says "fire chiefs want to make sure we keep in caution that there is still a fairly high fire danger.
Tulsa County Commissioners vote each Monday to extend or rescind the county-ordered burn ban.
Both the state and the county burn bans allow for gas, charcoal and wood grilling as long as it is done over an all-weather surface such as concrete, asphalt or gravel.
