Tulsa Co. burn ban extended again; now mirrors state burn ban

The Tulsa County burn ban has been extended again. Right now, its just a back-up plan.

Tulsa County commissioners voted this morning to extend the county burn ban. Deputy County Commissioner Michael Willis tells KRMG that the Tulsa County ban remains in place because Governor Fallin could drop the state-wide ban at any time.

Commissioners also updated the county burn ban to match the one ordered by Governor Fallin. Tulsa County's burn ban now allows charcoal grilling as well as gas grilling as long as it is over a nonflammable surface and at least 5 feet from flammable vegetation.
