Tulsa added to Severe Thunderstorm Watch

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for several counties in northern Oklahoma

The watch includes Craig, Nowata, Osage, Pawnee, Tulsa and Washington Counties.

That includes the cities of Bartlesville, Nowata, Pawhuska, Pawnee, Tulsa, and Vinita.

Scattered thunderstorms will likely develop across the area according to NWS, and continue through the night.

The watch currently expires at 11:00 p.m. Central Daylight Time.

Most of the storms should remain in the Kansas-Oklahoma state line area.

The primary concerns involve heavy rainfall and flash flooding in that area, with one to three inches of rain expected.

Strong winds and hail are also possible with the storms, as well as a slight risk of a tornadic storm.

The KRMG Storm Center is fully staffed and will activate if dangerous weather develops.
