Fliers now have the opportunity to go through an expedited security check at Tulsa International Airport as the Transportation Security Agency has expanded its PreCheck program.
It means some travelers can leave their shoes and belts on, don't have to remove laptops from bags, and they can go through a metal detector rather than an Advanced Imaging Technology machine.
TSA actually began a "soft roll-out" of the program at TIA last week, but Thursday made the official announcement.
The airlines invite regular customers to participate, and the travelers have to pass a background check.
Unfortunately, not all fliers will qualify, and not all airlines participate -- including Southwest, the top carrier at TIA.
Fliers can also enroll in the Customs and Border Patrol Trusted Travelers program, though they have to pay a fee of about $85.
That does qualify them for the TSA PreCheck program.
Participants will have a PreCheck logo printed right on their tickets.
