An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper arrested on a DUI complaint after wrecking his patrol vehicle and destroying an OHP boat missed an arraignment Wednesday, and may also face an additional charge of possessing a firearm while intoxicated.
A check of court records showed that Joshua Davies failed to appear for his scheduled hearing in Sequyoah County District Court, and the judge had taken a possible bench warrant under advisement.
KRMG has learned Davies' attorney was there, and Assistant DA Stacey Slaughter says it appears there was confusion between Davies and his attorney as to the date of the arraignment.
The arraignment was passed for one week.
The judge gave Davies the benefit of the doubt and did not issue the bench warrant.
Meanwhile, Slaughter said, her office is considering amending the information to add an additional count against Davies for possession of a firearm while intoxicated.
Both that possible charge and the DUI charge already filed are misdemeanors.
