A jury was sworn in late Tuesday morning in the trial of a Claremore man accused of raping a 12-year-old girl.
Hunter Lee Hines, 19, faces several felonies, including first degree rape, lewd molestation, forcible sodomy, burglary, and harboring an endangered runaway child.
According to court documents obtained by KRMG, he's accused of breaking into a cabin with the girl as the pair were hiding from police.
While in jail on that charge, Hines allegedly sent a threatening letter to President Obama.
He reportedly bragged to a friend about taking the girl's virginity.
Federal prosecutors say he sent the letter on December 13 of last year from the Rogers County jail.
If convicted on that charge, he faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
The Rogers County charges could net him several more decades in prison.
The jury was sworn in about 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, then two alternates were chosen.
Testimony was scheduled to begin after a break.
