Power restored to south Tulsa customers after transformer fire

TULSA, Okla. — UPDATE 1/4 12:07 p.m.: Power has been restored to customers in south Tulsa.

More than 1,000 people are without power after a transformer caught fire and downed power lines this morning.

No nearby homes were damaged, but Tulsa Fire did put out a small grass fire.

Crews with PSO are currently making repairs at the transformer, near Yorktown and E. 36th Street.
