Tourist with throat cut saved by John Malkovich

Actor acted quickly

The Oscar nominated actor was taking a break while filming The Giacomo Variations when the accident happened.

A tourist fell on scaffolding and cut his throat causing blood to begin spurting out.

Malkovich and a restaurant owner quickly went to help with the actor in the lead.

Jim Walpole is the tourist, he continued.

The injured man told the CBC Malkovich "took over just like a doctor."

"I asked, 'What's your name?' He said, 'John.' And I didn't ask the last name 'cause I didn't figure I'd remember it anyhow."

Malkovich used his own scarf to help stop the bleeding, then thanked the business owner and was gone.

"He was just off, didn't want any attention. He's a gentleman and a compassionate person” said the restaurant owner.

Walpole will recover and he plans to use that time to fix a problem. He hasn’t seen a single John Malkovich movie.

Jim’s wife told the network "I'm going to watch all of them that I can!"
