Tornadoes and storms could strike Tulsa on Tuesday

Tulsans will need to pay close attention to weather reports on Tuesday, because there's a good chance that storms will develop and some could be severe including the possibility of tornadoes.

News on 6 meteorologist Travis Meyer told KRMG the main threat begins Tuesday afternoon, and extends on into the early morning hours on Wednesday.

Travis says the chance of rain is near 100 percent.

The KRMG Stormcenter is standing by and will keep you advised in the event of severe weather.

"Chance of strong to severe thunderstorms exist in that rain with hail the primary threat and then some wind damage and also the possibility of seeing that there could be a few isolated, embedded tornadoes late tomorrow afternoon," Travis said.

Travis said skies will eventually be clearing off Wednesday and it will be much colder on Wednesday with a high of only 43 degrees.
