Third coronavirus case confirmed in Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY — Governor Kevin Stitt confirmed Thursday afternoon that there is now a third case of the coronavirus in Oklahoma, although he didn’t release where the patient is located.

Leaders at the Altus Air Force base say a member is undergoing evaluation and treatment following a presumptive positive test.

It’s believed the airmen go the virus after returning from leave in Seattle.

There have not been any deaths due to coronavirus symptoms in Oklahoma.

The first two cases were in Tulsa County.

Governor Stitt says he is communicating with Vice President Mike Pence and federal health experts to keep informed on the latest updates.

Stitt says the state is not recommending that schools close.
