Suspect still on the run one year after massive wildfire

The man suspected of setting the largest wildfire in state history is still on the run today, one year after the fire started near Mannford.

Many neighbors are still in temporary housing. Some are even in tents.

Firefighters battled extremely hot temperatures that day, as well as days without sleep.

The fire burned for six days and destroyed 380 homes.

Investigators say Billy Cloud threw out a lit cigarette onto the dry grass in front of his home. The neighbors were the first to see damage.

50,000 acres were burned.
