Suspect steals canine officer, police car

A canine officer is found safe and sound after being stolen by a man being arrested for trespassing.

Henryetta police say William Brooks took off in a police car containing the dog Friday morning.  This happened while he was being arrested.

Multiple agencies then set out on a manhunt.  Police say they tracked him down around 10:30 a.m. near the stolen vehicle.

The dog was sitting in the backseat of the police car when the agencies arrived.

Brooks is currently at the Henryetta Police Department.

He now faces additional charges.
