Study: Your e-mails are stressing you out

New research finds a direct link between a person’s stress level and how much they use e-mail at work.

Sending and receiving emails is making our stress levels go up more than ever.

They looked at blood pressure, heart rate and cortisol levels of 30 workers along with hand-written diaries from the employees.

What they found is that workers are more prone to stress when sending and receiving e-mails.

Those studied experienced higher blood pressure, a faster heartbeat and increased cortisol levels in the brain.

However, the stress levels did not increase when the e-mails were checked at home and not related to work.
