Study: There's poop in your pool

CDC found majority of public pools with fecal contamination

Let’s just say you should keep your mouth closed when you hit the pool this summer.

When the CDC studied the water from a collection of public pools they found a frightening 58% had fecal contamination.

Yuck.

Researchers say they think most of the poop comes from swimmers not being clean when they got in the water but admit there are certainly “accidents” as well.

161 pools were studied and while these happened to be in Atlanta the department says "I think if we had done this study anywhere in the United States, we would have found the same thing."

Also found was Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a bacteria that is known to bring on ear infections and can leave a nasty rash.
