Students kneel at Tulsa football game

Sat, Sept 30, 2017 — The controversy regarding professional athletes kneeling during the national anthem made its way to Tulsa's Booker T. Washington High School Friday night.

Several students were seen kneeling during the anthem.  Student Jillian Owens tells us they're protesting injustices involving the African American community.

“I don’t believe anybody means to disrespect the flag or this country,” Owens said.  “I just think that they’re taking a stand.”

“I think we should honor the flag because people fought and died for it,” one fan said.  “It’s a symbol of us.”

Not everybody took a knee.  There were quite a few people who did stand for the anthem.

Do you believe the protest is warranted?
