Stray bullets becoming an issue in Rogers County

Over the last two weeks, both a moving car and a home have been hit by stray bullets in Rogers County.

Sheriff Scott Walton says the two incidents were likely reckless deer hunters or other recreational shooters. No people were injured, but the bullets did break a back windshield and a television.

"Both of these could have turned out to be very sad endings," Walton said. "By the grace of God, nobody was struck with one of those rounds."

For reference, the reckless handling of a firearm could result in criminal charges.

Investigators add they have had some instances of livestock that were shot by stray bullets as well.
