Storms to move in Friday evening; some could be severe

Wind & hail are the main threats

Storms are expected to move into the Tulsa area Friday evening, some of which could reach severe levels.

The National Weather Service in Tulsa said damaging wind and golf ball sized hail is possible.

The tornado threat is low, but not zero. The higher tornado risk is southwest of the Tulsa area.

The system should be moving out of the Tulsa metro late tonight.

The stormy weather is expected to arrive after 4pm.

FOX23 and KRMG Meteorologist Michael Seger said you should be prepared if you have any plans this evening.

Once the storms clear, we are in for a nice weekend.

We could still see some rain early on Saturday, but it will clear out and warm up to near 70 degrees.

Sunday looks to be sunny with a high around 77 degrees.
