Storms creep back into the forecast

TULSA — Forecasters say potentially explosive thunderstorms packing large hail, damaging winds and tornadoes could develop this holiday weekend over parts of eastern Oklahoma.

“A couple of scattered showers and thunderstorms approach Friday evening and Friday night. Higher rain and storm chances, and a higher severe weather risk, late Saturday afternoon,” said FOX23 Chief Meteorologist James Aydelott.

The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, says widespread severe storms are expected Saturday, stretching from parts of the central and southern Plains east to the mid-Atlantic coast.

Sunshine is expected to return for Memorial Day.
