'Stomach bug' closes down Anderson Schools in Sand Springs

Some kind of 'stomach bug' is wreaking havoc on the Anderson Public Schools in Sand Springs.

Around 5 dozen students have gotten sick, as well as 25-percent of the teaching staff.

Superintendent Kevin Younger says they've decided to close school until after Thanksgiving to let the illness run its course.

While school is out, he says they'll sanitize the building thoroughly, so they can be ready to start school promptly after Thanksgiving.

“It hits them hard for a day or two, and then it goes away just as quickly,” Younger said. “But when they have it, it's bad and ugly.”
