Special elections set for Tuesday

TULSA — Voters are headed to the ballot box this week for Tulsa's Senate District 37.

Republican voters will pick from seven GOP candidates seeking to replace outgoing Republican state Sen. Dan Newberry in a winner-take-all primary.

The winner will face Democrat Allison Ikley-Freeman in a November general election.

Among the other ballot items Tuesday are sales tax hikes in Oklahoma City for road and public safety improvements and a race for sheriff in Oklahoma County.
